It’s so easy to get caught up in the narrative that the shorter colder days are to be endured – and as someone who thrives in summer I definitely used to feel this way.
But there’s so much more to this time of the year than mourning the loss of long golden days as the temperature drops and the leaves float away. What remains is a world of previously hidden depths – of colours, textures and contrasts that are the backbone of our natural environment. There’s a rich tonality to the carpets of moss deep in the forest at dusk or the glossy shine on a conker – and even the low tide on a cloudy day.
It’s this imagery that has inspired my fabric collection- Keito. It’s a wool blend: soft but sturdy, calling to mind cosy cashmere. Available in eight different shades, all which have a place in autumn’s complex, plentiful palette, these are fabrics which welcome the new season with open arms.
Carob, Chestnut, Lichen, Moss, Oat, Ocean, Pistachio all speak to the rich tonality that autumn brings. There’s a depth without darkness, calling to mind cosy evenings, woodland walks and falling leaves.
