Modern, minimal homeware inspired by nature
It’s fitting that my note to you all is written in summer, with its early sunrises and cloudless skies over landscapes of green and gold patchwork. Where crops are on the cusp of harvest and wildflowers are in full bloom. Summer is my favourite season: the warmer weather helps, but it’s more than that. It feels synonymous with freedom, ease, softness and peace – all things that are right on my doorstep in the English countryside.
Nature has always been a core part of my work. As an interior designer, I’ve sought to bring natural elements into living spaces – leaning into the simplicity of soft linen, grainy wood or the shade of grey made by the mist of a summer morning.
I want to introduce you to my first collection for Alix Lawson Home, a fabric range which harnesses the simplicity of natural elements and brings them into the home to create beautiful, relaxed interiors. The fabrics differ in terms of colour and texture but what I really wanted to achieve was a shared tonality that spoke to the understated elegance of nature – what is always there if only we look.
I’m lucky to live surrounded by nature and absorb the seasons as they roll around. I hope to share my findings and ideas with you and offer a little insight into how I work and how I make homes work.
